To promote physical wellbeing and mental wellness a joyous day break is given to students with a slogan ‘Ease your burden,
it’s no bag day’ to align with the policy of NEP 2020. Ramadevi Public school on 14th August,2023 has initiated its first
No Bag Day and witnessed a healthy and stress free environment in the premises with overwhelming activities in Foundational
and Primary wing.
No Bag Day was organised for Pre-Primary on 14th August 2023 to retain the freshness in learning. The fun filled and engaging
activities focused on developing creative speaking, listening and fine motor skills of the students.
The day began with the Nature walk where they learn about the pre-number concept, the students enjoyed finger dabbing
of tricolour on a National flag on the eve of Independence day. This activity was helpful in unleashing the inner
artist in the students. The students were engaged in Roll the Dice game, each child was given chance to roll the
dice and played the fun filled game. To hone the interpersonal skills of our student’s speaking activity like
Alphabetical word hunt, each child is given a chance to pick an alphabet and say the words that starts with
the same and ‘Simon says’ was also conducted by the teachers to identify the body parts. The beauty of Telugu
lies in its vast vocabulary, unique grammar, and expressive nature. To upgrade their writing skills children was
given colourful clay to practice the basic strokes and letters.
Class 1
The day for Class 1 started with the Show and Tell Competition on the theme – National symbols. The students were
asked to bring the picture or model of National Symbols and speak few sentences. Students participated
enthusiastically in the competition. The activity was helpful in enhancing their speaking and listening skills.
They learnt more about our country by hearing from the peers.
To inculcate the spirit of patriotism, Tri-color food display was conducted. Students brought tricolour
sandwiches, salads, sweets, juices and idlis. This paved a way for collaborative learning.
To enhance the word power made easy an outdoor treasure hunt was set up in the lawn. Cards with naming words
were scattered on the ground and containers labelled as types of nouns were kept on tables. Students were asked
to pick one card and placed in the correct container. There was a lot of exhilaration as children ran to pick
cards. This set forth joyful experiential learning among the students. There was a display of tremendous team
work and coordination among students and teachers.
Art has many benefits for children, it encourages expressing one’s true self, improves motor skills, develops
patience and increases concentration. Card making activity was also conducted wherein students drew and coloured
pictures and made a card.
Last but not the least, Clay moulding activity was the icing on the cake for the young enthusiasts on the bagless
day. The main objective behind is to foster the physical, mental and intellectual aspects of the students.
Students enjoyed immensely and returned home with numerous memories of the day.
Class 2
A celebration of nutritious food
"A healthy inside begins with a healthy outside."
To have a healthy way of life, it is crucial to instil healthy eating habits in pupils from an early age.
We, the instructors of class 2, planned the "Healthy Food Celebration" for August 14, 2023, to spread awareness
of healthy eating on the occasion of "No Bag Day." The event's primary goal was to foster the habits of consuming
nutritious food. Mrs. Qamar Sultana, the vice principal, and Mrs. Swapna and Mrs. Roopa, the academic
coordinators, formally inaugurated it. Pictures of fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, milk products, sprouts,
exquisite salads, and other nutrient-dense food items were employed to decorate the venue, which additionally
had a background of catchy quotes. The learners presented food items and explained their benefits and the
nutrient content present in them. Once back in their classes post lunch children enthusiastically participated
in drawing and colouring and show and tell where they spoke on National leaders. The activities held focused
on developing listening, speaking and fine motor skills. It was an effort of Ramadevi Public school to make
learning joyful through various enjoyable activities and promote the right attitude through interactive
and child-centred teaching techniques.
