Every Academic year possesses various and varied challenges. A teacher needs to address these challenges effectively and must ensure that the students can derive their best.
The theme of the Faculty Development Program this year was: Reach and Teach All. The core idea was to focus on the New…to enhance students engagement and to promote success.
The first day of FDP (05th June,2023) being World Environment Day, was celebrated in the campus by the planting of hundreds of Saplings. A special presentation by the Biology Department was arranged to enlighten the participants about Depleting natural resources, effective waste management and Bio plastics. 5
The entire Faculty Development Program was designed and helmed by the teachers to share, aid and support the co learners.
Around 12 workshops were conducted to help the teachers with their academic, organizing and emotional goals.
The teachers have learnt about the NEP 2020, its tenets, aims and objectives. They have realized how the ICSE has already integrated the NEP with the curriculum.
The session on Mindset and how it affects life goals was quite interesting. Teachers found it rather interesting to learn about the different techniques that could be used to help the dawdling scholars; how to help them balance their emotion and Motivation, was the greatest take away from the session.
The sessions on Essential teaching skills for favorable outcomes, was rather interesting. How to incorporate various effective methods in the classroom and how to differentiate between the goals of a teacher and educator was stated. Most importantly, the toolkit of a teacher that would ensure effective teaching was a great takeaway for all. The sessions that abounded in stress management and anxiety disorder among students and teachers, had widened the horizons of our perception about the teachers and students. How to handle stress, utilize our energy and how to prioritize ourselves were the key takeaways from the sessions.
Since technology is an essential tool and part of education these days, the sessions on how to effectively manage technology and use it for various purposes grabbed everyone's attention.
Special sessions, that were conducted for the primary school teachers, focused on how to incorporate techniques like Mnemonic, hand gestures, treasure hunt and many other activities into their regular activities.
The Vice Principal, in her session, how a Positive Attitude can bring about a big change. She has also focused on the importance of maintaining work ethics.
The brain booster activities and games were the treasures of these sessions.
Along with all these sessions and talks, the words of Dr. Ravi Chandrasekhar Garu, were meant to motivate all the teachers. Being true to the spirit of energizing the faculty members for the upcoming academic year he spoke about the importance of being true and dedicated to our profession. He ensured a safe, supportive and conducive academic atmosphere for all and also mentioned which areas need a special focus to better ourselves and benefit the students. He has stressed upon bringing up the numbers of students in the distinction grid for the upcoming board examinations.
