Healthy salad activity was not just about eating healthy but also about helping children to develop important life skills. Salad is a healthy food in our daily routine. In today's fast - paced life children often neglect healthy eating.
We motivate our children to include healthy vegetables in their daily diet. As a part of our commitment to nurturing healthy habits in our young minds. The pre-primary of Ramadevi Public School conducted Young Chef Healthy Salad activity on Friday 18th July, 2025.
The activity began with an introduction to the different types of vegetables. Teachers explained the nutritional benefits of each ingredient such as the vitamins found in carrots, the fibres in cucumbers and the antioxidants in tomatoes .Vegetables are rich source of fibres and nutrients that keep our digestive track healthy.
Our blooming buds brought the chopped raw vegetables like cucumber, carrot, tomato, onion, boiled sweet corn and coriander to make a delicious and colourful salad with the help of their teachers. Children mixed and matched the ingredients to create their own colourful salad.
Once the salads were ready, children were eager to taste their creations. The sense of accomplishment was visible on their faces as they enjoyed their personalised healthy meals.
We wanted to provide children with a memorable experience that would leave lasting impact on their attitude towards food. Through this activity they learned that vegetables are not only good for their bodies but also colourful fun and easy to prepare.
They finally clapped themselves in preparing a healthy salad and felt happy by taking chef cap as a takeaway.
