The future of our nation is shaped by the knowledge we impart today. On August 9th, 2024, our school hosted a special quiz competition for students of classes 3rd, 4th, and 5th to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of India. This event was not just a test of knowledge but a journey through India’s history and the heroes who shaped it, with rounds covering slogans, freedom fighters, historical movements, national symbols, and more.
The event was organized by the primary house marshals, and we were honoured to have Mrs. Qamar Sultana, our school principal, Mrs. Roopa, the primary wing academic coordinator, and Mrs. Swapna Samuel, the foundational wing academic coordinator, join us to encourage and enjoy the competition alongside the students.
Five teams, named Swarjya, Swatantra, Yodha, Ekagratha, and Sankalp, competed in this final round. Each team was a mix of three students, one each from 3rd, 4th, and 5th classes, representing both boys and girls. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the audience, consisting of 4th and 5th class students, cheered enthusiastically for their favourite teams. The quiz featured five interactive rounds, where participants unleashed their curiosity, eagerly discussing and collaborating to answer the questions. A few questions were also asked to the audience, adding an extra layer of engagement and excitement. We all discovered how much we knew about India’s symbols and heritage that make it shine and unique.
In the end, Team Swarjya emerged as the winner, with Team Swatantra securing the runner-up position. The participants impressed us all with their knowledge and dedication. The event was truly a blast, leaving everyone with a deeper appreciation for our history. As the competition concluded, it became clear that we were witnessing the future heroes of our nation. This event was a celebration not just of learning but of the spirit of freedom and patriotism that binds us all.
Mrs. Qamar Sultana addressed the students at the conclusion of the event, praising their efforts and encouraging those who did not win, reminding them that there will always be more opportunities. Mrs. Roopa also congratulated the students for their outstanding performance.
This quiz competition was a wonderful celebration of our independence, highlighting the spirit of unity and learning among our young students.
